About Me

Hi! I’m Claire Applebee, M.S. CCC-SLP, a pediatric speech-language pathologist and the founder of Peak to Speak. I’m originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, and earned my undergraduate degree from Penn State University (We Are!), where I also played club lacrosse. I went on to complete my master’s in speech-language pathology at Gannon University in Ruskin, Florida.

My love for the mountains brought me out to Colorado, where I’ve made a home doing what I love—both in my career and in the outdoors. I grew up skiing with my parents and older brother, and that passion has only grown. One of my favorite things is having my family visit so we can hit the slopes or explore the trails together.

When I’m not working with kids, you’ll find me running, walking, hiking, skiing, reading and spending time outdoors. I’ve always had a passion for working with children because speech therapy lets us play while we learn. I strive to create fun, engaging sessions that help kids grow in confidence while reaching their communication goals.

My Clinical Experience

I bring a wide range of clinical experience to my practice, having worked in public schools (Pre-K through high school), private practices serving children and young adults ages 1–25, a pediatric hospital setting, and a skilled nursing facility supporting adults ages 50-101! These diverse experiences have given me a strong foundation in treating a variety of communication challenges across all ages, as well as a deep understanding of how to tailor therapy to meet each individual’s unique needs and environment.

Testimonials

“My son, Luke, worked with Miss Claire weekly for speech therapy when he was 1.5-2 years old. We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She made therapy so much fun! Luke can be really anxious in new environments with new people, but Claire just had a natural way with him and made him feel comfortable. She also gave me helpful tips and tricks to use with Luke at home to help promote speech. She was always kind, understanding, and professional. Her approach was play based and effective, which is exactly what we needed to see progress with Luke's communication. She always had a variety of toys and tools to help Luke stay regulated, while also working on his speech. With her help, Luke began using more gestures and sign language, as well as making new sounds needed to learn words. This really helped him to be able to communicate his needs with us. We would 100% recommend Claire to anyone in need of speech therapy services!”
